The Brotherhood was founded, as required by the Bishopric regulations, as the Parish Association of Nuestro Padre Jesús de la Caridad before the Denial of Pedro and Nuestra Señora de la Estrella, on July 2, 2014, by parishioners from Alicante, more specifically from the Parroquia de San Pablo, in Altozano, where the desire arose for the neighborhood to have a “Brotherhood” in the future that would participate in Holy Week in Alicante commemorating the Passion, Death and Resurrection of Jesus.

After a period of more than 4 years, on March 13, 2018 the bishop of the Diocese of Orihuela-Alicante, Monsignor Jesús Murgui Soriano made the appointment as “Our Father Jesus of Charity Penitential Brotherhood before the Denial of San Pedro and Our Lady of the Star ”

In 2018, the image of Saint Peter, also the work of D. Manuel Martín Nieto, and that of the rooster, the work of, is incorporated into the mystery of Nuestro Padre Jesús de la Caridad, which represents the moment in which Christ is denied by his disciple Pedro. Mr. Juan Manuel Montaño Fernandez, the first phase of his sculptural ensemble being completed.

Likewise, the Alicante image maker Mr. Jorge Marín Montoya restores Our Lady of the Star in 2018, a work by Mr. Ricardo Rivera Martínez in 1992.

The image of María Santísima appeared on the street for the first time in 2014 in a prayer of the holy rosary in the month of October.

In 2017 the Brotherhood carried out its first procession on the eve of Holy Week on the day of Passion Saturday with a single step that the Virgin appeared next to Our Father Jesús de la Caridad. A year later, in 2018, they made their first processional outing with two steps.

In 2018, the Assembly of the Greater Board determines the processional exit of the brotherhood on Palm Sunday 2019, this being the first year in which the Penance Station will be held at the San Nicolás Co-Cathedral and will carry out the Official Race of the City of Alicante .

The Brotherhood has its headquarters in the Parish of San Pablo, next to the Priestly House, being this one of the furthest from the Official Race of the city of Alicante.
